Perfectly creamy

Finally vegan cheeses starts to taste like "real" cheese. It's not like anyone of us are supposed to require such a seemingly scientifically impossible feat from nuts (oh these wonder fruits), but some companies and people are sure getting close these days. Not only do I want my "cheese" to taste somewhere close to it, but I normally opt out on the stuff that aren't organic and which contain nonsense ingredients such as carrageenan, titanium dioxide and soy (Dayia, Tofutti, Go Veggie all use some or all of those). Miyoko's Kitchen on the other hand, is an all organic, clean ingredient company that produces these next level masterpieces, using actual bacterial cultures and techniques that are generally reserved for dairy cheeses.

Most of their cheeses are made with a base of organic cashews, filtered water, organic coconut oil and organic spices, herbs or mushrooms added for each specific style. With 10 different flavors, they're sure to satisfy any cheese lover and they're not only great as pictured with crackers and wine - which they btw excel at - but they're also superb to crush down into your pasta dish for a full cream effect like any regular artisan cheese would do it.

Miyoko Shinner is the genius behind this brand and she's written several cookbooks in the past 25 years. The Homemade Vegan Pantry is probably her most famous one right now and I often reach out for it as great inspiration in my kitchen.

These brilliant cheese are unfortunately not sold everywhere as yet, but go ask your local Whole Foods or health food store to bring them in. Or order them off the website and have them delivered within two days in the US. Can't beat this.

  2. Hej Taru. Kan jag fråga vilket visum du har och hur du lyckades få det? Vill så gärna flytta dit men det är så extremt svårt att få visum till USA. Har du några råd? Tacksam för svar, kram
